Description
ERK1/2 (Extracellular Signal-Regulated Kinases 1 and 2) are key MAP kinases (~42–44 kDa) activated by phosphorylation of the TEY motif through the RAS–RAF–MEK–ERK pathway. Once activated, they move to the nucleus and regulate genes involved in cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival. They are highly conserved and widely used as markers of MAPK pathway activation, especially in their phospho-ERK1/2 form.
