Goat polyclonal antibody to mGarnet. mGarnet is a monomeric far-red fluorescent protein engineered from coral-derived fluorescent proteins, originating from the cnidarian Entacmaea quadricolor. It is designed as a bright and photostable reporter suitable for fusion tagging, live-cell imaging, and multicolor applications, particularly in the far-red spectrum. mGarnet is a basic (constitutively fluorescent) protein with improved maturation and stability compared to earlier variants. It typically exhibits a maximum excitation around ~598 nm and a maximum emission around ~670 nm. mGarnet-tagged proteins can be detected in Western blot at approximately 26–27 kDa plus the molecular weight of the fused protein. In immunofluorescence, antibody staining can enhance detection, particularly in fixed samples or low-expression systems. These antibodies are widely used in studies of protein localization, trafficking, and multiplex imaging, especially in combination with shorter-wavelength fluorophores for deep-tissue or low-background imaging applications.
